Synoikos?

Negi?

Vilniaus universiteto studentė Ieva Maniušytė gavo kvietimą iš forumo organizatorių per organizaciją „Student Reporter“, kai pagal mainų programą mokėsi Oksforde.

Of course, not only studies take much space in her life - besides deepening her knowledge, Ieva writes a lot, sings, plays the piano (but not while singing) and rides a horse with an unpronounceable name.

Kaipgi kitaip:)

She also spent one year as a Visiting Student at the University of Oxford, which she considers as one of the best experiences of life that gave her an incentive to aim more and dream big. As a result, she has already participated in oikos Model WTO...

Oikos Model WTO 2011: During the week, a key issue was the debate on PPMs (Process and Production Methods). Furthermore subsidies for green products where discussed and how to deal with the factors pertaining to intellectual property rights as well as sector specific technical barriers to trade. The whole discussion was aimed on specific solutions within the framework of the WTO on how to better promote green products. Nevertheless, already the definition of green products was one very debatable topic.

Oikos Model WTO 2012: The simulation was focused on Regional Trade Agreements and their importance was discussed. Can RTAs be seen as a relief to the multilateral trading system or will they be seen as the kiss of death? A second key issue was sustainable trade, where we linked the debate to the topic of regionalism. Is local trade substantially better? We further discussed whether free trade and sustainability are contradictory or maybe complementary?

Oikos Model WTO 2013: This year, Intellectual Property Rights were in the centre of the discussion. The students discussed implications for business and development. What kinds of patents are considered innovative? How to ensure that IP is protected and how to punish violations? Is the access to medicine more important than the patent of a pharmaceutical firm and what is the role of compulsory licencing ? The simulation also covered the issue of trademark disputes and the criteria for geographical indications.

Ne tas, kol kas.

Oikos Model WTO 2014 application is now open!

Vis ta pati Šveicarija.

Kol kas vis ne tas.
